Going The Same Way – Tracing footsteps #10
Each month until June 2017 we will share fan stories from around the world to celebrate Hanson’s remarkable career and Fan Community.
We have invited fans from five continents, to share their experiences and they tell us in their own words, how they have traced footsteps on a journey with Hanson and their music.
This month Ana and Thais Merino (Making Lemonade), from Curitiba/Brazil, share their story.
Not really. We’re really honoured to do it, though. Let’s go!
We’re two sisters who’ve always loved music. We loved to sing while traveling by car with our family, we loved to sing at a child choir, we also had the chance of playing a little bit of guitar, flute… whatever we could get to play or just take some noise out of, it was game. Music just has always been there.

Hey. Wait. Waaait. So you mean there’s much more to this music thing? Right then, something made us hungrier for more knowledge.
Who is this band? Who has been inspiring them to play like that? How can someone our age sound that good? We’ll have what they’re having, please.
That hit us very hard and we went back to music school. We went back to learn, to remix our influences, but mainly, to surround ourselves with that which made us happy and suddenly it felt so right because it was already part of a reality that we could imagine and live.

It’s been 20 years of joy, of discoveries, development, fun, friendships, of travelling around the world to see concerts, of singing our hearts out with huge smiles on our faces.

When we started out, we were just playing someone else’s songs. Admiring and enjoying it.
Nowadays, we get to play our own, and grow with it everyday. Even though we have non-music related professions, our little band is here, our ears are here, our excitement is here, music is here and it peremptorily refuses to go away.
Music is just always there, just like it always has been.
It seems that we owe too much to one band. Yes, we are quite sure we do.
We will probably never be able to thank Hanson enough for being the inspiration to a lifetime of music all around us.
But we’ll try: THANK YOU!!
