April 1, 2013

Hanson are MMMBack (sorry), announcing today (April 1) their big plans for 2013: for the trio’s 21st anniversary, they’re releasing their ninth album, Anthem, on June 18 and they’ll hit the road for a world tour the following month. That’s not all: lead single “Get the Girl Back” is getting a music video starring Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls) and Nikki Reed (Twilight), and it’ll premiere Thursday (!) on VH1.com. Based on the above single artwork and the fact that the video will feature “an old-school brass section,” it appears they are channeling Justin Timberlake‘s suit-and-tie shit. (Side note: anyone musician who wears a tuxedo this year will be compared to JT.)
This is almost too much to process — comeback videos from Jonas Brothers and the Hanson brothers in the same week?! April’s shaping up to be a good month. Read on to see the band’s tweet with the announcement as well as the list of dates for the first leg of the Anthem tour. Head to Hanson’s official site for ticket information.
