The three blonde brothers who brought us ‘MMMBop’ in the ’90s are back.

hanson_6Sixteen years later, the Hanson boys have lost their trademark long golden locks but their passion for songwriting and Motown-inspired music hasn’t waned.

Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson are all grown up and are busy promoting their new album, ‘Anthem’, and single ‘Get The Girl Back’.

Zac Hanson explains the name of the album and the kind of music fans can expect to hear: “It ‘s called ‘Anthem’ for a reason, because I think there’s a size to the record that hasn’t been there as much in other albums, there’s certain space and certain quality to the songs where they were written with the audience in mind, where you hear the part in each song or in many of the songs that were written for the crowd to sing back at you, or to sing with you. It’s still Hanson, we love melody, we love harmony, we love writing. I mean they’re the kind of songs that hopefully get stuck in your head, you just want to listen to them over and over again.”

The trio from Oklahoma rose to fame in the 1990s and have since been nominated for multiple Grammys and sold over 16 million albums worldwide.

‘Anthem’ is the brothers’ ninth studio album, featuring horns, hand-claps and sing-along choruses a-plenty.

“When you hear it you immediately hear the Motown, and throw back reference, you hear the cowbell, the baseline, that very, very, much hails from an era of American rock and roll soul music. But it’s melodic, it’s danceable, it’s kind of a classic theme,” says Taylor Hanson.

Hanson are currently on tour promoting their new album.

They will be making their way through Europe in December.
