\u201cWe just smelled the lovely smells of smoked bacon,\u201d says Taylor Hanson, who\u2019s at Toronto\u2019s CNE with brothers Isaac and Zac.<\/p>\n
It was in 1997 when the trio first released their smash hit \u201cMmmbop.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fast-forward almost two decades later, and the band is still making music with the release of their sixth studio album \u201cAnthem\u201d \u2013 a compilation unlike something you\u2019d expect from a 90\u2019s \u201cboy band.\u201d It\u2019s mature, clean and passionate.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And passion seems to be a key word.<\/p>\n
With a focus on their label 3CG, their brewery, and \u201cTake the Walk\u201d \u2013 a grassroots campaign to support poverty and people living with HIV\/AIDS in Africa, Hanson are managing to keep themselves very busy.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve done thousands of walks with thousands of different people around the world,\u201d says Taylor. \u201c[Take the Walk has] helped drill clean water wells, helped build schools, and helped provide medicine. \u2026 The thing about it is, the power of that connection. We have a lot of things we\u2019re passionate about. There\u2019s a lot of worthy causes, but the power of Take the Walk campaign is really the idea of experiencing with those that are there. Not just giving, but connecting.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s also about never asking people to do something you\u2019re not willing to do yourself,\u201d adds Isaac.<\/p>\n
Besides passion for Take the Walk, the brothers have launched MMMHops, a pale ale. Reports had suggested it may be making it way to Canada, but for now, Canucks can order it online.<\/p>\n
Talyor says they\u2019re growing their brand and currently, it\u2019s available in Oklahoma, Illinois and Kansas.<\/p>\n
