Guilty pleasures are a stupid thing. It implies elitism. If you like something, you like it, and that’s it. (MOE Tulsa, 2011)
I’d have to say a happy medium between the Simpsons and, unfortunately, The Waltons. We’re probably not as weird as The Addams Family.
Taylor being married and so on, that does evolve the dynamic on the road.
Actually, I don’t think there’s anyone that represents the artists, except the artists themselves.
I know there’s a lot of people who don’t like Hanson…but you know what? I don’t give a rip!
Tay actually got really pissed off when we were recording LWEO video, and actually put a hole in the wall.
No offense, I know everybody’s raving about them, but MP3s do not sound as good as CD quality, and the bass, the bass is not even there.
If you are putting yourself up on a pedestal, you have to realise someone is going to try to shoot you in the head with a BB everyone once in a while and knock you off the wall.
Creating the record company gives you a lot of great opportunities. It gives you an avenue to express yourself in different ways. Starting this record company was an opportunity to really get closer to our fans.
Our idea of the Internet is that it’s an open source, a place where people all over the world can instantly get content. We’ve tried to use it as a way to develop trust with our fans as much as possible.
It’s not about Hanson. FUCK HANSON! It’s not about us. Music is going down because it sucks. You have the power to change that. ‘Are You Listening’ is our call to action. It’s important for young adults to start making noise about the music they’re passionate about.
We get along pretty well. We’re not like Oasis. We don’t fight all the time.
There’s a whole package…. three brothers who enjoy hanging out with each other, who love what they are doing. That’s just who we are. We’re just normal guy’s having fun
My wife has the rights to my sperm these days!
Having Ezra is the best thing we’ve ever done. Life and art are all about these moments.
A lot of teen bands are criticized for being fake, but they are not hated. I think we are hated because it scares people that we could be real.
Once I wound Zac up so much that he dragged me out of the lounge by my hair!
A Porsche may be cool but what happens when your career’s over and all you have to live in is your car?
I will only say she is beautiful and amazing and I’m very lucky (about Kate)
There is not an audience or concert that could ever stand up to the feeling of meeting your baby for the first time.
I think the female species in general is pretty hard to figure out. Guys are like, ‘Give me some food’ and have like one active brain cell. But girls have these things called feelings. Guys just have bowel movements.
The real reason we ended up getting into that type of music was our dad worked for an oil company so we spent a year overseas when we were young kids. Because of that, it was all Spanish TV and radio so we ended up having these ’50s and ’60s tapes, tapes of that music.
My voice changing causes problems?? Hmm…only to a certain extent. Some of the songs are really high… it’s like ‘Tay you try it now!
There is a difference between, seeing me, reading about me, and knowing me
What Others Say
Bono (U2): I’ll tell you one of my favourite songs, ever — long-haired, blond-haired kids…Hanson. This [Mmmbop] is one of my favourite songs of all time. They were an amazing band…
Tom Hamilton (Aerosmith): Hanson makes some great music so we’re happy to share the bill with them.
Shawn Colvin (musician): I loved Hanson. I loved MMMBop. I loved it. How could you deny that? It was just sounded great. And that kid can sing.
Rosie O’Donnell (actress): Those kids in Hanson are so talented and cute. Someone should get them a sitcom.
Dust Brothers (producers): The Hanson brothers were probably the most confused of all about our recording system. They had never recorded on the computer. They’re a live band, and at first they were a little scared. They said, ‘Is this gonna be Hanson or Milli Vanilli?
Chris Rock (comedian): I went to a Hanson concert the other night, and you know what? They can play!
Jim Breuer (presenter/actor): It’s always crazy when Hanson is around somewhere. Because the girls are screaming and trying to touch them and Hanson’s just basically trying to get the hell outta there in one piece. If one Hanson brother gets tackled, then you can forget about ever seeing them again. Although I did see Taylor get his shirt ripped off. That had to be embarassing. But they are cool.
Jim Carrey (actor): I want to adopt the little Hanson brother
Steven Jenkins (3rd Eye Blind): I hate it when people say Hanson sucks…Hanson does NOT suck. They proved that at the Grammy’s they can rock..face it people, bow down to Hanson, they rock and will be around a lot longer than most…
Adam Sandler (actor): They seem like nice fellas. And I’m proud of them. but I’m really upset that they gave me the boot.
Lance Bass (*NSync): Oh, totally those Hanson’s. They’re cool I really like that song, MMMBop It’s so good I sing it in the shower!
Sean ‘Puff Daddy’ Combs (musician): I think Hanson’s going to be around for a long time. I think that they’re three great talented young men and I think that what people need to stop doing to music is looking at the negative in everything. People are trying their best. It’s great, and I think they’re going to be around for a long time. You know, I like Hanson. When I hear them sing live, they have good voices, they play live instruments. I think they are going to grow as musicians. They are great entertainers and they have a lot of personality… some clean-cut kids trying to have a good time. They sound like the Jackson 5 to me a little bit. They got a lot of soul to them.
